Coronavirus: atenție la escrocheriile online și la practicile neloiale

Deoarece unii furnizori online exploatează temerile legate de coronavirus pentru a vinde produse false sau pentru a ridica prețurile, Uniunea Europeană ia măsuri.

Din ce în ce mai multe persoane stau acasă, datorită autoizolării și distanțării sociale. Din această cauză, cumpărăturile online sunt în creștere. În timp ce oamenii încearcă să se protejeze de virus, unii comercianți profită de anxietatea populației pentru a vinde produse false la prețuri foarte mari.

Există pretenții despre orice, de la măști până la medicamente și produse de dezinfectare a mâinilor – etichetate în mod eronat ca „singurul remediu pentru coronavirus” sau „singura protecție împotriva coronavirusului” și vândute de multe ori mult mai scump decât valoarea lor reală.

Comercianții folosesc și alte practici, precum informații false conform cărora produsele sunt rare, pentru a convinge consumatorii să cumpere.

Ce să verificați

Există câteva lucruri cărora le-ați putea acorda atenție.

Dacă vedeți revendicările enumerate mai jos, fiți în gardă:

  • afirmații explicite sau implicite că un produs poate preveni sau vindeca Covid19
  • utilizarea de surse neoficiale, cum ar fi medicii auto-declarați
  • utilizarea numelor sau a logo-urilor autorităților guvernamentale, ale experților oficiali sau ale instituțiilor internaționale, dar fără link-uri sau referiri la documente oficiale

  • afirmații precum: „cel mai mic preț pe piață”, „singurul produs care poate vindeca infecția cu Covid-19” etc.
  • prețuri exorbitante datorate pretinselor puteri de vindecare ale produselor.

Dacă întâlniți afirmații înșelătoare pe o platformă online, utilizați instrumentul de raportare al operatorilor platformei pentru a informa despre acest fapt.

Informațiile false pot fi distribuite chiar de un prieten sau membru al familiei inocent, care a fost păcălit și crede că vă ajută.Consultați întotdeauna surse de încredere pentru informații despre coronavirus: guverne naționale, autorități sanitare sau organizații internaționale, cum ar fi Organizația Mondială a Sănătății.

Ce face Uniunea Europeană

Pentru a rezolva problema înșelătoriilor online legate de coronavirus, Comisia Europeană și autoritățile de protecție a consumatorilor din statele membre au lansat o serie de acțiuni comune.

Pe 20 martie 2020, sistemul de cooperare pentru protecția consumatorului a emis o poziție comună cu privire la cele mai raportate escrocherii și practici incorecte, pentru a ajuta platformele online să identifice mai bine aceste practici ilegale, să le elimine și să prevină reapariția altora similare.

Pe 23 martie 2020, comisarul pentru justiție și consumatori, Didier Reynders, a scris diferitelor platforme, rețele de socializare și motoare de căutare pentru a le solicita cooperarea în vederea eliminării escrocheriilor precum remediile false la coronavirus de pe platformele lor.Înșelarea consumatorilor în legătură cu beneficiile sau rezultatele așteptate de la un produs, susținând că poate vindeca o boală sau că este disponibil doar pentru o perioadă limitată de timp este interzisă în UE, datorită directivei privind practicile comerciale neloiale.

Orice afirmație făcută de un comerciant potrivit căreia produsul său poate vindeca o boală trebuie să fie susținută de dovezi. Operatorii platformelor active  care află despre activitatea ilegală care se desfășoară pe site-urile lor web sunt obligați să intervină.

Parlamentul European se angajează, de asemenea, să-i protejeze pe europeni atunci când sunt online.
